The UHRS1 Awards is Newfoundland and Labrador’s premier hip-hop awards organization. We are dedicated to celebrating, elevating, and uniting the East Coast’s vibrant urban music scene. Through our annual awards show and live showcases, we shine a spotlight on the province's top-tier lyricists, producers, and performers. Our mission is simple: to honor the authentic voices of Newfoundland hip-hop, push the culture forward, and provide a stage where local talent can connect with fans and the global music industry.

Artist of the Year
This award is given to the artist who excels the most in their genre based off output, community involvement, performances, etc.

this award is given for the hip hop / rap project of the year. this award is based off the project overall (concept, artwork, songs, flow, delivery, etc.

Upcoming Artist of the Year
the award for this category is given to the artist who is one of the most active, consistent & promising recent faces on the scene.

Single of the Year
This category is awards to the artist with the biggest break out single of the year.

Music Video of the Year
this category is awarded to the visual that has the best vibe, energy and overall production of the year.

Audio Engineer of the Year
this awards is given to the person who displays the best sound and overall skill when engineering vocals.

Producer of the Year
this award is given to the producer who displays the most consistent effort and best sound overall.

Fan Choice
this is a new category as of 2026 & is chosen completely by a fan choice poll. check back to see nominees & future winners!
Industry Person of the Year
this is a new category as of 2026 & is meant to help showcase people of all professions in our genre. open to djs, event planners, artists, etc to submit. check back for nominees and future winners!
